Job summary

Wichita Public Schools is seeking a Custodian to support the custodial staff in providing a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students and staff. The role includes daily duties in assigned areas, restrooms, hallways, gym, lunch room, and energy management tasks.

Responsibilities also cover equipment use, coordinating with the supervisor, and assisting with scheduling and special events. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be prepared for physical duties and overtime

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of Proficiency of Custodial Operations certificate preferred.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Dusting all flat surfaces.
• Emptying wastebaskets and sweeping floors.
• Mopping floors and cleaning restrooms.
• Cleaning equipment and replacing supplies.
• Sweeping hallways, stairs and landings.
• Strip, seal and wax floors as needed.
• General energy management tasks and light maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with special events.
