Job summary

CHESS Christian School in Springboro, OH seeks a Maintenance Specialist to support building and grounds upkeep. This full-time, on-site role performs routine maintenance, minor repairs, preventative tasks, and seasonal grounds work to keep the school safe, welcoming, and functional for students and staff.

You will coordinate with the Operations Director on facility needs and assist outside contractors as required.

Qualifications

• Born again Christian with active relationship with Jesus Christ
• Faithfully attends a church aligned with CHESS beliefs

• Pass a background check
• Hands-on maintenance, handyman, or related field experience
• Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the facility.
• Identify maintenance needs during walkthroughs and coordinate repairs with the Operations Director.
• Respond to urgent facility issues to minimize disruption to school operations.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and address leaks.
• Assist with doors, locks, hardware, furniture, and classroom equipment upkeep.
• Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment and facility tools.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of building systems.
• Adjust lighting, thermostats, and ventilation for efficiency and comfort.
• Coordinate access and support outside contractors as directed.
• Track tasks, document work, and report outstanding repairs and supplies.
• Uphold CHESS's Christian mission and professional conduct.
