Qualifications

• Ability to complete Basic Facilities Service training program and obtain certification within probationary period.
• Ability to perform custodial work.
• Ability to operate shampoo/scrubbing machines, wet/dry vacuums and other heavy labor-saving devices in schools.
• Ability to do heavy lifting and climb ladders to replace light bulbs and filters in HVAC equipment.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English on cleaning and equipment operation.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas assigned (cafeteria, restrooms, offices, gym, halls) per custodial standards.
• Empty trash and transport to dumpster.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors and clean walls and surfaces.
• Perform heavy lifting and move items as needed.
• Wash and sanitize sinks, toilets and fixtures; replenish supplies.
• Replace bulbs/lamps and clean fixtures; clean filters.
• Dust and wax furniture; minor repairs as needed.
• Operate floor stripping/sealing equipment in gym/stage areas.
• Move/furnishings as required.
• Change AC filters and clean vents.
• Maintain equipment and store safely.
• Receive supplies and store properly.
• Inform supervisor of needed supplies and maintenance issues.
