Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks a Facilities Serviceperson to perform heavy cleaning and custodial duties across district schools. The role covers floor care, restroom sanitation and safe, organized maintenance of classrooms and offices.

You will work with cleaning equipment and assist with loading supplies, under supervision. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift and operate heavy devices, and basic training in facilities service.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete the Basic Facilities Service training program and receive Basic Facilities Service certification.
• Ability to perform custodial work.
• Ability to operate shampoo and scrubbing machines, vacuums and other heavy labor-saving devices in the schools.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English on cleaning and equipment operation.
• Ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas assigned such as cafeterias, restrooms, offices, gymnasiums and halls per custodial standards.
• Empty trash and debris, carry bags to the dumpster and dispose of properly.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors and other building surfaces.
• Move or transport school furniture as needed and assist with unloading supplies.
