Job summary

Coffee County School System is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across school facilities under the supervision of the Principal and Head Custodian.

Responsibilities include keeping buildings and grounds neat, monitoring HVAC settings to ensure comfort and energy efficiency, and reporting repair needs promptly. The role requires good communication and the ability to meet health and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Exhibits appropriate communication skills.
• Meets health and physical requirements for duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintains buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas.
• Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand.
• Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
• Follows proper safety procedures to maintain the security of the building and grounds.
• Performs minor building repairs and reports major repair needs promptly.
• Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste.
• Knows and follows all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the job of custodian.
• Participates in required annual safety training.
• Works in conjunction with district maintenance personnel to maintain building needs.
• Demonstrates positive customer service skills.
