Job summary

Nimble is seeking a Head Custodian II for Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts - Lower in Connecticut. The role oversees routine maintenance and housekeeping, inspects custodial work, and ensures facilities are clean and safe.

Responsibilities include supervising custodial staff, scheduling work, and maintaining records, while coordinating with the Principal and Custodial Manager. Requires strong leadership and knowledge of building cleaning methods.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in building cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of modern building cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to maintain and organize records; establish working relationships with staff and the public.
• Ability to work under difficult time constraints and under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the cleaning work completed by custodial staff.
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance of the building; operate boilers and heating equipment.
• Develop work schedules for custodians.
• Supervise and train custodial staff in use of cleaning equipment and disinfectants.
• Distribute supplies and equipment; keep inventory and maintenance records.
• Conduct regular building tours to ensure premises are neat and orderly; supervise minor repairs.
• Evaluate custodial staff with input from Night Lead, Custodial Manager and Principal.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
