Job summary

St. Joseph School District is seeking a substitute custodian to cover custodial duties across district schools as needed. Duties include cleaning, snow removal, safety drills, and coordinating with site administrators to ensure clean, safe facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 50+ lbs, and reliable attendance. A background check and pre-employment screenings are required. This is a 12-month, non-exempt position reporting to the Facilities Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Able to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.
• Background check, physical capacity assessment, and drug screen completed prior to start date.
• Preferred 1 to 3 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly, reliably and punctually.
• Assist with site snow removal to ensure access and safety.
• Clean facilities and grounds to maintain a sanitary, safe environment.
• Conduct drills and training for safety and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate custodial activities with administrative staff and prioritize tasks.
• Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate locations.
• Maintain supplies and equipment needed for custodial work.
• Respond to safety or operational concerns and resolve or report them.
