Job summary

Vista Charter Public Schools is seeking a custodian to help maintain school facilities and support the plant manager with scheduling, events, and daily operations. The role involves maintaining inventories and working with diverse stakeholders to ensure a safe, clean learning environment.

The candidate should have prior experience with students in an educational setting, be flexible and team‑oriented, and have basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with students in a learning environment.
• Spanish language ability preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality of school facilities.
• Assist Plant Manager with scheduling, events, cafeteria, maintenance, playgrounds and cleaning.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of textbooks and supplies.
• Help maintain a positive, safe learning environment for students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Coordinate with community partners/leaseholders where spaces are shared.
• Coordinate with after-school groups or outside vendors who use the school.
• Follow laws, district policies and health and safety regulations.
