Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a general maintenance worker to support tradesmen in maintaining electric, HVAC, plumbing and related fixtures across school facilities.

The role includes seasonal lawn and playground upkeep, minor repairs, and tasks spanning carpentry, masonry, roofing and painting as needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• General maintenance work experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to operate mobile information technology devices for work orders.
• Ability to use/tools and materials safely for typical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradesmen in maintaining electrical, HVAC, plumbing and related fixtures.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks like moving furniture, signage, fences, curbs and pavements.
• Help troubleshoot minor electrical issues under supervision and perform some repairs.
• Assist with doors, locks, flooring, walls and painting; basic drywall finishing.
• Identify roof leaks, perform basic carpentry, and manage snow removal and landscaping tasks.
