Job summary

Montgomery Co KY Maintenance in Mt Sterling, Kentucky is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction of district buildings and equipment. The role requires a high school diploma, physical ability to lift heavy loads, and knowledge across trades including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent and involves supervising part-time maintenance workers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Physical condition allows lifting of heavy loads and moving furniture.
• General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, mechanics, masonry and carpentry.
• One year building & mechanical maintenance or operations experience.
• Must meet Physical Performance Requirements.
• Other qualifications as the Superintendent/Board may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repairs, and construction of District buildings and equipment in one or more trades (carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, HVAC).
• Maintain records of time, costs, and materials used in maintenance and repair of facilities.
• Operate a wide variety of tools and equipment including vehicles, mowing equipment, power hand tools, and hand tools.
• Contact Lead Maintenance Worker or Director of District Operations when no assignment is available.
• Prepare and report information on work performed and recommend equipment purchases over $50.
• Inspect school plants regularly to identify needed repairs or improvements; address safety hazards as needed.
