Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated facilities custodian supervisor to maintain building operations and safety protocols. The role involves directing custodial staff, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring readiness of school facilities for daily educational activities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with two years of custodian experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years custodian experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents; write routine reports.
• Supervises 4+ individuals.
• Able to use a PC and email.
• Strong math and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Instructs custodians on building and grounds, maintenance activities.
• Assists Facilities Director in scheduling custodians.
• Point of contact for administration & staff.
• May be on call 24/7.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Assist the public with directions and equipment setup.
• Coordinate snow and ice removal to keep schools open on time.
