Job summary

Rice CISD in Texas seeks a General Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance and repair of district facilities and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems. Assist with grounds maintenance and move, install, and repair school furniture as needed.

The role requires following verbal and written instructions, basic construction knowledge, and the ability to operate hand and power tools. A valid Texas driver’s license and one year of maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• One year of general building maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
• Inspect interior/exterior areas and grounds, perform minor repairs and upkeep.
• Move, install, and arrange school furniture and equipment as needed.
• Support with setting up facilities for events and maintaining safety.
• Operate light trucks to transport furniture and equipment around the district.
