Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to operate district vehicles.
• Basic construction and routine maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work independently and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of facilities and systems.
• Inspect buildings, playgrounds, and grounds for needed repairs.
• Identify and report major repairs to supervisor.
• Complete repairs on work orders as directed by foreman.
• Assist with moving, installing, and repairing school furniture and equipment.
• Install doors, windows, ceilings, and flooring material as required.
• Operate a light truck to transport furniture and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain and preventive maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Support grounds maintenance activities as needed.
