Job summary

Brownell Talbot College Preparatory School is seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and functional school environment in Omaha. The role covers custodial services, groundskeeping, event setup, and general facility maintenance.

The position requires physical labor and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Previous custodial or maintenance experience is preferred, with full-time day-evening shift coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely operate custodial and groundskeeping equipment.
• Training is available.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, groundskeeping, or facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout school facilities (classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, common areas).
• Mow lawns, trim grass, and maintain landscaped areas; remove debris.
• Set up and tear down spaces for school events, meetings, and activities; assist staff with facility needs during events.
• Perform routine inspections and report maintenance concerns or safety hazards; assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures, use cleaning chemicals and PPE properly, and maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
