Job summary

Millard Public Schools in Omaha seeks a Full Time 12 Month Custodian responsible for daily cleaning and basic maintenance of district facilities. Duties include floor care, restroom cleaning, trash removal, and light maintenance work.

The role includes an additional 29 cents per hour stipend, excellent benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance), paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and the NPERS retirement plan.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain acceptable working relations with supervisors, staff, students, general public and fellow workers.
• Work overtime as required.
• Ability to work from ladder and scaffolding.
• Ability to complete required training.
• Ability to perform assigned duties with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrates knowledge of proper usage of products and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping floor care: dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and spot cleaning.
• Picks up and empties trash; maintains cleanliness of classrooms and facilities.
• Cleans and polishes furniture, restrooms, chalkboards, whiteboards, walls, and light fixtures.
• Cleans lunch areas and supports school meal program.
• Removes and replaces defective lights; cleans mechanical grills; snow removal as needed.
