Job summary

Archdiocese of Omaha’s St. Bernard School is seeking a reliable custodial worker to perform essential cleaning and maintenance tasks. The part-time position involves cleaning classrooms, bathrooms, and public spaces, handling equipment, and assisting with events.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, good communication and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to lift heavy items. Safe Environment Training and Background Check are required, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• General cleaning knowledge and ability to follow custodial procedures.
• Must pass Safe Environment Training and Background Check required by the Archdiocese of Omaha.
• Ability to lift items weighing 50–100 lbs and read technical manuals/drawings.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleaning activities across classrooms, bathrooms, and public spaces on a weekly schedule.
• Maintain, service, clean and store custodial equipment properly.
• Complete regular custodial tasks and respond to facilities requests promptly.
• Assist with occasional heavy lifting and event setup/takedown as needed.
• Coordinate with team during renovations and deep cleaning in summer break.
• Report issues to Principal and Pastor and document progress.
