Job summary

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a full-time Custodian to provide routine cleaning services across classrooms, labs, offices, entrances, stairwells, and other campus spaces. Duties include dust mopping, auto scrubbing entryways, restocking restrooms, vacuuming, trash disposal, and assisting with set-ups and emergency cleanups.

Strong teamwork and the ability to follow instructions are essential. Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to understand and follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Works effectively on a team and independently.
• Interacts courteously with a variety of people.

Responsibilities

• Clean daily classrooms, conference rooms, research labs, offices, entrances, stairwells, water fountains, and other areas as assigned.
• Dust mop, spot mop and auto scrub entry ways and hallways.
• Clean and restock restrooms daily.
• Vacuum, dust, empty trash and perform other cleaning duties to assigned areas daily.
• Restorative and project cleaning including vents, carpet spotting, moving furniture and other as assigned.
• Clean all equipment after every usage.
• Change light bulbs.
• Respond to emergencies, (flood etc)
• Participate in set ups.
