Job summary

Edinburg CISD is seeking a Custodian for the Maintenance & Operations Department. The role entails following routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of school facilities.

Qualifications include a High School Graduate or GED (preferred) and some janitorial experience or on‑the‑job training. The position is 40 hours per week, with hourly pay ranging from $15.25 to $19.32.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED preferred
• Six (6) months experience in a janitor role preferred or on-the-job training
• Knowledge of safety and cleaning procedures
• Ability to work with little supervision and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and supervisor

Responsibilities

• Keep all buildings in a clean and orderly condition
• Sweep, mop or scrub hallways, classrooms, offices, restrooms and stairs
• Empty trash and garbage containers
• Mow lawn, trim shrubbery, and cultivate flowers
• Move desks, tables, and chairs as directed
• Clean restrooms fixtures with cleaning solutions and disinfectant
• Perform routine maintenance and report repair needs
