Job summary

Atlanta International School in Atlanta, GA seeks a Facilities Technician / Building Engineer to maintain and improve campus facilities, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure. The role requires hands-on work, independent problem-solving, and collaboration with the Facilities team to keep buildings safe and reliable.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, contractor coordination, and ensuring accurate CMMS records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial facilities, building engineering, HVAC, mechanical, or related trade experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Commercial HVAC experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and electrical test equipment.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform general HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building repairs.
• Complete work orders and scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot HVAC and building systems to identify root causes and determine appropriate repairs.
• Maintain and service RTUs, air handlers, split systems, VAVs, mini-splits, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, heat pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
• Assist with BAS/BMS troubleshooting, HVAC controls, alarms, sensors, and actuators.
• Support cooling towers, boilers, chilled-water systems, pumps, and other commercial mechanical equipment.
• Maintain accurate CMMS records, equipment history, and preventative maintenance documentation.
