Job summary

Jefferson City School District is seeking an experienced Electrician to inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems across district facilities. The role requires adherence to applicable codes, safety standards, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

The position is twelve months with benefits as per the Classified Agreement. Salary will be established by the Board of Education; the ideal candidate will have journey-level experience and a commitment to safe, reliable electrical

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED.
Five years of journeyman electrician experience or commercial electrical experience preferred.
Ability to lift 55 pounds to shoulder height occasionally.
Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
Effective communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Ensure safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical apparatus, wiring, panels and disconnects in district facilities.
Recommend repairs to be performed by outside contractors.
Perform electrical repairs in accordance with codes.
Maintain inventory of district-owned tools and supplies.
Complete repair orders promptly.
Estimate costs for electrical repair projects (labor and materials).
Regularly inspect electrical equipment for preventive maintenance and safety.
Plan, install, and complete electrical systems for special projects.
