Job summary

Jefferson City School District Maintenance is seeking an Electrician in Jefferson City, MO. Immediate start; twelve-month terms with salary to be established by the Board of Education; benefits as per Classified Agreement.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5 years journeyman electrician experience or equivalent commercial electrical work, and the ability to lift 55 pounds and push/pull 20 pounds regularly. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Five years of journeyman electrician experience or commercial electrical experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 55 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
• Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Effective communication skills and team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility for safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical apparatus, wiring, panels and disconnects in district facilities.
• Recommend electrical repairs to be performed by outside contractors
• Performs electrical repair work in accordance with county and municipal code.
• Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintains inventory of district-owed tools, equipment, electrical supplies, and light bulbs.
• Complete repair orders in a timely fashion per industry standards.
• Estimate costs of electrical repair projects in terms of labor and material.
• Examine electrical equipment in district facilities for preventive maintenance and safety.
• Plan, install, and complete electrical systems for special projects as needed.
