Jefferson Parish Schools Hart Elementary in Gretna, LA is hiring an Assistant Custodian to support the plant manager in keeping facilities safe, clean, and well maintained. The role involves opening/closing, basic HVAC operation in the absence of engineers, and supervising custodial staff as needed.

The position requires willingness to perform light maintenance, monitor inventory of supplies, and report safety concerns to the principal. Immediate start and full-time hours are expected.

Formación

• Must be able to read and write effectively and comprehend operation of equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to perform light maintenance and basic repairs as needed.
• Willingness to supervise custodial staff and coordinate tasks with the plant manager.

Responsabilidades

• Open and secure the building; operate HVAC in absence of engineer.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of halls, classrooms, and yards.
• Inspect equipment, replace bulbs, and perform minor repairs.
• Receive supplies, monitor inventory, and supervise custodial staff.
• Monitor safety procedures and report vandalism or unsafe conditions.
