Job summary

Iredell-Statesville Schools is seeking a Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in district facilities, keep equipment functional, and assist students, teachers, and staff as needed.

Under supervision, you will secure buildings, clean various areas, maintain floors, assist with events, and support grounds keeping, deliveries, and recycling programs as required. The role requires ability to work in varying weather and to follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building/cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at beginning and end of shift.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and other areas to district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Deliver supplies to classrooms and assist in unloading trucks.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and snow removal.
