Job summary

IREDELL-STATESVILLE SCHOOLS is seeking a Custodian/Bus Driver to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds under supervision. The role includes maintaining equipment, assisting students, staff and visitors, and supporting activities and programs.

Responsibilities include cleaning, snow removal, delivering supplies, and ensuring safety and cleanliness per district standards. A High School Diploma is required, with prior cleaning maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform duties.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas to standards.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, furniture, and blinds.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, sills.
• Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment.
• Clears snow and spreads sand/ice melting chemicals.
• Performs grounds-keeping and cleans debris.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading/loading.
• Delivers supplies to classrooms and other areas.
• Empties wastebaskets and assists in recycling.
