Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Custodian to provide custodial and facilities operation services for Baldwin County schools. You will help maintain safe, clean, and comfortable educational environments and assist with diagnosis and correction of facility issues.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and demonstrate ability to follow plans, prioritize tasks, and work in varied conditions including heights, outdoors, and after hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment under applicable laws.
• Demonstrated skills using standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the maintenance trade.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods for floors, walls, windows, fixtures, and plumbing fixtures.
• Ability to read and follow plans, directions, and lay-outs for maintenance projects.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work in heights or confined spaces; indoors and outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean, and attractive school environment.
• Cleans floors, walls, windows, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures.
• Performs custodial duties and preventive maintenance for schools.
• Delivers supplies and moves furniture as directed.
• Inspects buildings and grounds for safety hazards and reports needs.
