Job summary

Ferris Independent School District is seeking a Custodian under the supervision of the Facilities leadership to clean and maintain school buildings and grounds. Duties include cleaning rooms and restrooms, floor care, and assisting with deliveries and setup for events.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Prior janitorial experience is desirable; safety and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must follow oral or written work orders from supervisor.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to perform basic math for measurements and supplies.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and common areas.
• Sweeps, mops, and maintains floors.
• Performs basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Receives deliveries and distributes supplies to classrooms and offices.
• Assists with groundskeeping and snow/ice removal as required.
