Job summary

Sylvania in Colorado is seeking a Building Custodian for a full-time 8-hour shift, 260 days per year, with pay on the Classified Salary Schedule Category III ($18.41–$28.06) depending on qualifications and experience.

The role includes cleaning, disinfection, basic maintenance, securing the building, assisting with events, and providing high‑level customer service to staff and students. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, PERA contributions, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check required.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and trash removal.
• Secure the building and monitor security during the shift; assist with events setup/teardown.
• Provide high level customer service for staff and attendees.
• Report supply and equipment needs to the Lead Custodian and perform routine maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safe egress for all occupants.
