Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a diligent Custodian to ensure the cleanliness and safety of school facilities. Tasks include cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and common areas, plus minor maintenance on equipment and quick reporting of safety concerns.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and attend required WCPSS trainings after hire. Strong attendance, reliability, and the ability to work in a school environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• WCPSS trainings will be provided post-employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures entire school/facility is sanitized, cleaned, and maintained.
• Moves and arranges furniture as needed.
• Performs minor or preventative maintenance on custodial equipment and reports repairs or safety concerns.
• Opens/secures buildings and controls lighting at start/end of day.
• Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Responds to after-hour emergencies and inclement weather calls.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
