Job summary

Wake County Public School System is hiring a Head Custodian to supervise custodians at assigned schools, ensure safe, clean facilities, and manage work orders. Requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience, and demonstrated supervisory skills; training provided after employment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related custodial experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to follow district policies, safety rules, and procedures.
• WCPSS trainings will be provided after employment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns areas, projects, and work orders to custodians.
• Trains custodians by hands-on demonstration and examples.
• Evaluates daily work and reports performance to school administrator.
• Ensures school facilities are sanitized and maintained daily.
• Reviews inventory and places orders per procedures.
• Performs minor maintenance and operates custodial equipment.
• Opens and secures buildings at start/end of day.
• Responds to after hour emergencies as required.
