Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Custodian to ensure the sanitation, cleaning, and maintenance of the entire school facility, including floors, restrooms, windows, and surrounding grounds. The worker will also move furniture and report safety concerns to the supervisor.

Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a school environment with possible inclement weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• WCPSS trainings provided after employment.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize, clean, and maintain the school facility including floors, restrooms, windows, and grounds.
• Move and arrange furniture as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment and report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Open/secure buildings and manage lights at start/end of day.
• Respond to after-hour emergencies and inclement weather as required.
