Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Extensive janitorial experience.
• Experience as a semi-skilled handyman.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to get along well with others.
• Ability to understand and follow simple verbal and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Shovel, plow, and sand walks as appropriate.
• Check exit doors and panic bars during occupancy.
• Raise the U.S. and Kansas flags on school days.
• Clean classrooms and dust furniture daily.
• Clean corridors after school or as needed.
• Scrub and disinfect toilets and fixtures daily.
• Wash windows inside and out at least twice a year.
• Maintain grounds free from rubbish and perform yard work.
• Perform routine janitorial duties and report damages.
• Respond to maintenance needs and minor repairs as directed.
• Open/close the building and secure all doors/windows daily.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition replacements.
