Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of carpentry experience in layout, construction, repair and maintenance of buildings and furnishings.
• Valid driver's license with no serious violations.
• Health adequate to fulfill job functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrates integrity, good character, and initiative.
• Interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, and community.

Responsibilities

• Repair furniture, doors, locks, glass, window frames, trim, cabinets and school furniture.
• Construct and repair buildings and structures as needed.
• Replace damaged ceilings, walls, or flooring.
• Build bookcases, tables, stands, partitions and other equipment.
• Make time and materials estimates and reports of work completed.
• Maintain records and use computers/electronic equipment to fulfill tasks.
• Participate in in-service programs and required meetings.
• Display professional behavior with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Perform any duties within the scope of employment as directed by the Director of Buildings & Grounds.
