Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Non Instructional/Operations Carpentry Craftsman to perform skilled carpentry tasks across school buildings. Under general supervision, you will fabricate, install, and repair wood structures and fixtures, supporting district facilities.

Requires at least one year of carpentry experience, ability to read and write at a level for job performance, and a valid driver's license to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing skilled carpentry work.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Perform a full range of carpentry work including structural, fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Repair and replace ceiling tiles; lay floors including wood, VCT, and sheet vinyl.
• Install or repair glass entrance doors or windows as needed.
• Alter, repair, and construct wooden fixtures such as partitions, counters, doors, frames, sheds, and fences.
• Maintain and operate a variety of carpentry tools; ensure proper maintenance.
