Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools is hiring for a position in the School Dining Services program. The role involves assisting in meal preparation, serving meals at breakfast and lunch, and maintaining sanitation standards within the kitchen and dining areas.

The successful candidate will support students and staff, manage basic meal accountability, and work collaboratively with team members while adhering to district policies. A high school diploma or GED, plus sanitation training, are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; sanitation, food handling and safety training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to use basic computer applications and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high standard of nutrition for school dining service program.
• Assist in preparing, cooking and serving meals at assigned school (Breakfast & Lunch).
• Follow established sanitation procedures.
• Assist in student, money, and meal accountability as required in assigned school.
• Assist in supervision of children during meal service as required in assigned school.
• Wash and sanitize food service utensils.
• Work harmoniously with staff.
• Report maintenance needs and ensure equipment is used correctly.
• Ability to lift and store food and related products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
