Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools is seeking staff to assist in the School Dining Services program, focusing on nutrition, meal preparation, and safe food handling. The role involves serving meals, maintaining sanitation, and supporting students during lunch service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with training in sanitation and safety. Good teamwork and ability to lift and move items are important, and a strong commitment to following district policies is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. Training in sanitation, food handling and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining high standard of nutrition for school dining service program.
• Assists in preparing, cooking and serving the meals at assigned school (Breakfast & Lunch).
• Responsible for following all established sanitation procedures.
• Assists in student, money, and meal accountability as required in assigned school.
• Assists in supervision of children during meal service as required in assigned school.
• Responsible for washing and sanitizing food service utensils.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff.
• Responsible for correct equipment use and reporting of needed maintenance.
• Ability to lift and store food and food related products.
• Responsible for all other job related duties as assigned.
