Job summary

Neighborhood House Charter School is seeking a Day Porter (Custodian) to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our Queen Street Campus in Dorchester, MA. The role is a temporary leave-replacement with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m., featuring an hourly pay range of $26.49 to $32.57 and placement based on experience. The candidate will perform cleaning, maintenance, event setup, supplies restocking, and safety checks with close collaboration to Facilities and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in custodial/maintenance roles.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
• Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Keep cafeteria and all school areas neat, clean and sanitary.
• Maintain building and grounds cleanliness incl. restrooms, sidewalks, parking and play areas.
• Move furniture and equipment for events and daily operations as directed.
• Assist with inventory and requisition of cleaning supplies.
• Ensure doors, safety equipment, and safety procedures are followed during occupancy.
• Report maintenance issues and assist with minor repairs as needed.
