ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices within a K-12 or higher education setting. You will sweep, mop, dispose of trash, and follow chemical safety procedures while maintaining clear communication with staff and supervisors.

Basic qualifications include being 18 or older with no degree required; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: prior customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
• Sweep, mop floors, and remove debris in designated areas.
• Empty trash and manage recycling.
• Follow safety procedures when using chemical cleaners and equipment.
• Notify supervisor about repairs or building issues.
• Maintain good communication with clients and coworkers.
• Move furniture as needed for cleaning.
• Clean interior glass, windows and surfaces.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as lawn care or snow removal as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and quality standards.
