Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. The role includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, and following safety and cleaning protocols.

The ideal candidate is 18+ with on-the-job training provided; prior customer service experience is a plus. ABM emphasizes equal opportunity and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: Prior customer service experience.
• One (1) year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris; clean spills.
• Regularly empty trash in designated areas.
• Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
