Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a custodian to perform routine cleaning and ground maintenance across school facilities. Training will cover cleaning tools, equipment, safety, and personal protection necessary for custodial work.

Essential tasks include cleaning cafeterias, classrooms, restrooms, mop floors, and setting up spaces for events. Applicants should have GED or some high school, with HD preferred, and must meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Required: GED or some high school.
• Preferred: High School Diploma. Some custodial experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean cafeteria after lunch and mop floors.
• Pick up trash in bathrooms and hallways and clean spills.
• Set up for events and meetings in cafeteria, auditorium, library.
• Secure classrooms and doors at day end.
• Wash windows and clean chalkboards daily.
