Job summary

Fulton County Schools seeks a custodial worker to perform maintenance and cleaning in school facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, and bleachers; operating floor cleaning equipment; and restocking restrooms.

The role also covers event preparation and post-event cleanup, moving furniture as required, and maintaining grounds. Regular tasks involve responding to staff requests and performing minor repairs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment usage.
• Ability to operate floor and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial maintenance and cleaning within the school building.
• Cleans light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, and stadium seating.
• Operates equipment for scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors.
• Cleans, disinfects, and restocks assigned restrooms.
• Prepares for and cleans up after events scheduled in the building.
• Moves furniture and equipment as directed by head custodian or principal.
• Maintains appearance of grounds including shrubs, grass, parking areas and drives.
• Responds to staff requests/concerns in a timely manner.
• Performs minor repairs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
