Job summary

The Cumberland County Schools seeks a Custodian I at Gray's Creek Middle School in Hope Mills, NC. This 10-month, 87.5% position requires CDL bus license and ability to perform cleaning and maintenance duties in school facilities.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning, light maintenance, and safety compliance; driving a bus when needed, plus training and adherence to district policies. Starting immediately, pay is provided monthly.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with other people.
• Ability to read and write.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Possess physical strength sufficient to perform assigned duties.
• Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so.

Responsibilities

• Performs recurring tasks under direct supervision in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules.
• Changes in work methods or procedures are indicated by a supervisor and work is inspected for cleanliness.
• Performs lighter manual tasks in stripping, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and buffing in school buildings.
• Washes windows, vacuums carpets, cleans fixtures, restrooms, and maintains cleanliness of the building.
• Reports damages or need for repairs to supervisor and performs other related duties as required.
