Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is seeking a Day shift Custodian at Salk Middle School to maintain a clean, safe learning environment through custodial duties and supervision as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver's license, and ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime as needed. You will perform building and grounds maintenance, operate or service equipment, and support district operations while upholding equity and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, understand and write instructions related to equipment and supplies.
• Must be able to work inside or outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to keep the school clean and safe (scrubbing, vacuuming, waxing, dusting, sweeping).
• Maintain and repair building equipment per district needs.
• Maintain and repair playground areas as required.
• Identify and report hazards; correct as needed to ensure safety.
• Conserve energy and water by proper operation of systems.
• Lock/unlock buildings per area schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the day by patrolling hallways and restrooms.
• Operate and maintain school building systems and equipment as needed.
• Set up and tear down events and activities.
• Communicate repair needs to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
