ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform cleaning duties in K-12 and higher education campuses. This role includes classroom, hallway, restroom and office cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment.

The position emphasizes adherence to safety procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment, effective communication with staff, and contributing to a clean, welcoming learning space for students and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred: prior customer service experience and one year of similar work.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas (classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices).
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris and spills, and empty trash as needed.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment.
• Communicate with lead cleaner, managers and clients regarding needs or repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and dust desks, furniture and surfaces.
• Move items to clean areas and clean interior glass and windows as required.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and lawn/yard work.
• Adhere to all company, client, and regulatory standards.
