Job summary

NMS is seeking a Janitorial Supervisor to oversee Sitka School District facilities. You will lead janitorial staff, coordinate cleaning schedules, and ensure compliance with safety and district requirements to maintain a clean, safe environment for students and staff.

The role requires at least 2 years in janitorial work with 1 year in supervision, fluent English, and a valid driver’s license. Shift flexibility, background checks, and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years janitorial experience with 1 year supervision experience.
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (past 3 years).
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and callouts.
• Pre-employment checks including background, drug screening, physical, fitness, and hearing tests.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily janitorial activities.
• Monitor performance to meet quality standards.
• Perform routine inspections of offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Ensure cleaning services comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Train and mentor staff on procedures, equipment, safety, and customer service.
• Coordinate special cleaning and emergency cleanup projects.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate ordering of supplies and equipment.
• Manage records of inspections, schedules, inventories, and training.
