Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Janitorial Supervisor to oversee daily custodial operations for Sitka School District facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and the community.

You will supervise janitorial personnel, coordinate schedules, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and SDS guidelines, while maintaining records and responding to service requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years janitorial experience with at least 1 year supervision.
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.
• Pre-employment checks may include background, drug screening, physical, fit-for-duty, and hearing test.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive relationships.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of janitorial personnel.
• Assign work responsibilities and monitor employee performance to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of offices, restrooms, common areas, conference rooms, and other spaces to verify cleanliness.
• Ensure cleaning services are performed per company standards, safety regulations, and SDS requirements.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate janitorial staff on procedures, equipment operation, safety, and customer service.
• Coordinate special cleaning projects, floor care, carpet cleaning, and emergency cleanup activities.
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment; coordinate ordering and replenishment.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals per SDS and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to customer concerns and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate with Facility Management, Building Administration, contractors, and security personnel to support operations.
• Maintain records of inspections, staff schedules, inventories, training, and performance documentation.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, and health and safety standards.
• Perform other supervisory duties as assigned.
