Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a part-time Custodial Assistant to support daily school operations, maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming environment throughout the building.

The Custodial Assistant may also assist with seasonal and deep-cleaning projects, classroom setups, stocking custodial supplies, and other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian. This role helps provide a healthy learning environment for students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting the school’s

Qualifications

• Ability to perform general cleaning and custodial duties.
• Previous custodial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Must follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to perform custodial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets in classrooms, offices, hallways, and other areas.
• Empty and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Dust, wipe, polish, and clean windows and furnishings.
• Clean and maintain assigned areas per standards.
• Assist with seasonal and deep-cleaning projects.
• Assist with classroom setups and stocking custodial supplies.
• Monitor areas and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow safety procedures for cleaning products and equipment.
• Maintain a professional, dependable presence in a school environment.
• Communicate scheduling needs to Head Custodian and team.
• Perform other related custodial duties as assigned.
