Job summary

KIPP Atlanta Schools seeks a School Counselor to support scholars' academic and social-emotional growth through counseling services and prevention/intervention programs aligned with ASCA best practices.

The role partners with families, teachers, and school leaders to improve attendance, reduce chronic absenteeism, and strengthen school culture using data-driven planning and monitoring. Atlanta-based, in-person campus work.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling or related field (CACREP/regionally accredited).
• Valid Georgia Professional School Counselor certificate.
• 3–5 years of experience in school counseling with tiered SEL/attendance interventions.

Responsibilities

• Direct Scholar Support: provide counseling and SEL supports to improve attendance.
• MTSS & Intervention Collaboration: lead Tier 2/3 counseling components with academic/behavioral interventions.
• Family Partnership & Communication: conduct structured family outreach and meetings to address attendance barriers.
• Data, Compliance & Program Management: analyze attendance data and maintain intervention logs.
• Documentation: maintain accurate counseling records and progress monitoring.
