Job summary

KIPP NYC is seeking a School Counselor to support students and families across our NYC network. The role focuses on direct and indirect counseling, crisis intervention, collaboration with grade-level teams, and ensuring compliance with IEP processes.

Travel to campuses in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan is required. The ideal candidate holds an LMSW or MSEd in School Counseling (CACREP-accredited) and has at least 3 years post-licensure experience; Spanish speaking is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have LMSW or MSEd in School Counseling from CACREP-accredited program and at least 3 years post-licensure experience
• Spanish speaking highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling services to students and families.
• Collaborate with Grade Level Partners to engage students and determine levels of need.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Complete documentation for Students with IEPs and participate in annual reviews.
• Engage families through phone calls, scheduled meetings, and school events.
• Travel to multiple NYC schools as needed.
