LeafSpring Schools in San Antonio, TX is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals for students in a busy childcare setting. The role emphasizes food safety, organization, and the ability to follow prescribed menus and dietary guidelines.

You will work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 2:00pm, with no nights or weekends. The position offers a supportive team environment, opportunities for training, and benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and tuition

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food-service experience; school or childcare experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergy prevention.
• Ability to follow menus and prepare meals for groups.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs.
• Current food-handler certification, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.

• Order supplies, monitor inventory, and reduce food waste.
• Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation areas.
• Coordinate with school staff regarding meal schedules and student needs.
• Maintain required meal, temperature, inventory, and sanitation records.
