LeafSpring School in San Antonio, TX seeks a dependable School Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for our students. You will follow established menus, ensure food safety, and work in a fast-paced childcare setting.

Ideal candidates are organized, reliable, able to lift up to 20 lbs, and comfortable with a busy kitchen. This full-time, on-site role offers daytime hours from 7:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergy prevention.
• Ability to follow menus and prepare meals for groups.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs.
• Current food-handler certification, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
• Follow established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines.
• Accommodate documented food allergies and special dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.
• Follow food-safety, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures.
• Order supplies, monitor inventory, and reduce food waste.
• Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation areas.
• Coordinate with school staff regarding meal schedules and student needs.
• Maintain required meal, temperature, inventory, and sanitation records.
